Crafting the Economy of Perodia TCG

Hey everyone!

We’ve been quiet for a little while—partly because we’ve been neck-deep in spreadsheets, balancing levers, and some late-night debates over Stardust Core ratios. But now that we’ve hit a solid milestone in building out the economy of Perodia TCG, it’s time to lift the veil a bit and let you in on how we’re approaching this beast.

A Game Where Every Card Has Weight

From the very beginning, we wanted Perodia TCG to be more than just a collectable card game. We wanted it to feel alive, where every card in your collection isn’t just cardboard—or in our case, pixels—but a real digital asset. Whether you’re cracking open your first Green Pack or grinding your way to a Mythical Molek, your time and effort matter.

Each card you collect is securely tied to your account with tamper-proof identifiers. No clones, no funny business—just honest, trackable ownership that respects the time you’ve put in.

Qubits & Stardust: Currency with Purpose

Let’s talk economy: We’ve introduced two core currencies—Qubits (Ɋ) and Stardust Cores.

  • Qubits are your primary game currency, earned through battles, events, and completing quests. They’re your go-to for buying booster packs, trading on the market, or crafting.
  • Stardust Cores are more alchemical: you get them by dismantling cards. Think of them as the distilled essence of your collection—fuel for crafting cards you actually want.

This dual system gives players meaningful choices: Do you save and merge duplicates to power up a card’s level? Or break them down into Stardust and craft something new?

In the screenshot below, you can see both currencies on the right of the “New Deck” button. Each new user will be awarded a welcome bonus of 100 Qubits and 50 Stardust Cores (more or less, we are still balancing the economy, so changes may happen 😉).

Booster Packs That Evolve With You

We’ve got a tiered booster system—Green, Blue, Pink, and Gold. Each one has a different flavour:

  • Green is free and friendly—perfect for new players.
  • Blue steps things up with better Moleks and synthesis potential.
  • Pink goes big on synergy with guaranteed Event cards.
  • Gold is the crown jewel: Mythicals, top-tier effects, and your ticket to competitive builds.

Oh, and we definitely heard the horror stories about bad luck in gacha systems. That’s why Perodia includes pity timers—you’ll never go 50 packs without seeing a Rare or 200 without a Mythical in Gold packs. No one should feel like RNG is the boss of them.

Dismantle, Craft, Trade, Repeat

The card lifecycle in Perodia is dynamic. You don’t just hoard; you strategise. Every duplicate has value—either to level up your favourites or dismantle into Stardust.

The crafting system gives you total agency:

  • 25 Stardust Cores = a new Common
  • 2,000 Stardust Cores = your dream Mythical

And the trading hub? It’s robust:

  • Direct swaps with Card Value Score (CVS) balancing to keep it fair (we’ll explain CVS in a future DevLog!).
  • Marketplace listings where you can buy and sell with Qubits.
  • AI-powered trade matchmaking if you’re feeling lucky.

This isn’t just a game. It’s a living economy built for fairness, depth, and choice.

The Future: More Layers, More Player Power

We’re already sketching plans for guild trading boards, seasonal market events, and dynamic in-game economies that react to card usage, player trends, and upcoming meta shifts.

Everything we’re building is focused on making Perodia a game where players feel empowered to win and participate in an ecosystem that evolves with them.
